Protect Our Beef
Protecting American ranchers, food security, and traditional agriculture from risky insect protein expansion.
Protecting Families, Promoting Beef
At Beef Not Bugs, we stand against the push for insect protein. We believe in safeguarding our health, supporting farmers, and preserving our way of life by fighting against "insect food." Our core mission:
Defend U.S. cattle producers from unfair competition
Stop the food security risks from insect-based feed systems from entering our food chain
Protect consumers, farmers, and rural economies

Why Our Work Matters
Protect American Agriculture
American ranchers and farmers are already operating on tight margins, facing rising input costs and increasing regulatory pressure.
Industrial insect farming introduces a new, heavily promoted competitor that could disrupt traditional livestock systems and undermine rural economies.
Protecting American agriculture means standing with the producers who have fed this country for generations—not replacing them with unproven alternatives.
Overhyped Environmental Claims
Insect protein is being heavily promoted as a “sustainable” solution—but most operations still rely on the same agricultural inputs ranchers already use, like corn and wheat byproducts.
Rather than reducing pressure on the land, this creates new feed demand that competes with American farmers and drives up input costs.
Before disrupting proven agricultural systems, policymakers should take a hard look at whether insect farming actually delivers real environmental benefits—or just repackages existing resources under a new label.
Risks to Food Security
America’s food system depends on stability, safety, and proven practices. Insect-based feed and food systems introduce new and largely untested risks at scale.
The expansion of industrial insect farming raises serious concerns about disease transmission, biosecurity vulnerabilities, and the potential introduction of non-native or genetically modified species into the food chain.
Our food supply should not be treated as a testing ground for experimental production systems. Protecting American agriculture means prioritizing reliability, transparency, and long-term food security.
